Our Travel Vlog Journey

Hey there, and welcome! For three beautiful years, we shared our travel adventures through our vlogs, documenting the highs, the chaos, and everything in between. While we’re no longer actively vlogging, I wanted to bring a little piece of it here to my personal site—part reflection, part love letter to a really special chapter of our lives.

Our story has always been one of unexpected beginnings. Mike and I met in 2013, and over time, our friendship evolved into a relationship rooted in resilience, humor, and an ever-growing appreciation for each other’s weirdness. We didn’t start with fireworks—but we found something much better: trust, shared values, and a life built on growth and adventure.

Travel became one of our deepest shared passions. We didn’t set out to become vloggers. In fact, our first attempt at filming a road trip from Arizona to Colorado in early 2021 was… let’s just say humble. We used a Samsung S10, had no idea what we were doing, and cringed at my editing skills. But it was ours—and the joy we felt capturing those moments was real.

By late 2021, we gave it another go, determined to improve. We weren’t chasing fame or perfection—we just wanted to create something that reflected the beauty of what we were experiencing together. From the mountain towns of Colorado to the coastal cliffs of California, from desert roads to unexpected detours, we captured our memories not just for others to see, but for us to remember who we were at that time.

And through it all, we had our little sidekick with us—our dog, Kaiya. We never expected to be "fur parents," but Kaiya became the heart of our adventures. Whether she was trotting down a trail or curling up in the backseat after a long day, she grounded us in the moment and reminded us to appreciate the simple things: a warm sunbeam, a scenic view, a quiet breath of fresh air.

The past few years have brought a lot of change. We’ve settled into a new home, found new rhythms, and entered a different season of life. While we’re not creating travel videos anymore, the spirit of those years still lives in us. We still reminisce about the road, the views, the laughs, and the freedom that came with documenting it all—just the two of us (and one very photogenic pup).

If you ever watched one of our vlogs, left a kind comment, or followed along quietly—thank you. That support meant more than you probably realize. While the Genelle and Mike Vlog era may be behind us, the love, the growth, and the memories we created will always be part of our story.

Here’s to honoring where we’ve been—and staying open to whatever comes next.

-Genelle
